I've done it before on desktops and haven't had a problem booting and installing from CD and so on but with my Inspiron I have one pretty big www.doorway.ruted Reading Time: 2 mins.  · device driver not found: MSCD - posted in Hardware, Components and Peripherals: I reformated my Hard Drive on my Gateway E speed w/ ram Now I am trying to install windows XP however when I use my boot disk and selected load CDROM drivers it does not showup I get the following: Device driver not found: 'MSCD' No valid CDROM device drivers selected.

I think I may have messed up. I have a Toshiba laptop w/pentium processor. The hard drive has been reformatted and when I try to load Windows 98 from a boot disk I get the following message: Device driver not found: 'MSCD'. No valid CDROM device drivers selected I'm not a technical. My operating system didn't found a CD-rom. I have 2 optical drives. An AOPEN CDR/CDRW writer (40x12x48x) and a NEC dual layer DVD writer. Next I tried to use a boot disk from WIN98SE but when I selected to boot WITH CD-ROM support I got a message that the Device driver was not found. And I could not select my CD-ROMS. Depending on the version of Ghost, you need to have working DOS Device Drivers for the optical drive to read data from the CD/DVD media. However, new Dell computers now come with SATA optical drives, and the usual drivers may not work. And I haven't found working SATA device drivers for DOS yet.

Mor AP Somehow the drivers for my optical drives are not found. Why not? And how can I solve this problem. The hard disk comes from my old computer. Esf AP This is then followed by: Device driver not found: 'MSCD' No valid CDROM device drivers selected. As far as I'm aware the AUTOEXEC. M AP I tried to install win98 with startup floppy cd but when the system boots up it says: device drive not found MSCD No valid cdrom device.
